Improve the health of your hair and promote growth by freshening up your look after lunch, errands, or gym workout with this how to tutorial about making your own Dry DIY Shampoo- 2 different ways. This recipe uses only 2 to 3 natural ingredients depending on what version you make.

DIY Dry Shampoo + Essential Oils 2 Ways

Supplies:
     -Xanthan Gum
Cocoa Powder (dark hair version)
Bowl

Light Hair-

Dark Hair-
1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
For darker hair and smells great, adjust cocoa powder higher than arrowroot etc.

Red Hair:
For red tone hair and smells great, adjust to match your shade of red.

Step 1:
Measure powders into mortor and pestal. Mix together if you are using combination above for dark hair, red hair.

Step 2:
Add 8 drops Essential Oils {I used Cinnamon Bark Oil in my batch}, per 1 Cup of powder, if you are making more adjust the measurement to customize.

Step 3:
Combine Essential Oil and powder with the Motor/Pestal completely.

Step 4:
Store in a container and either use a brush to apply or a shaker container. I used a powdered sugar container for my batch.

LOL, I've used a sugar shaker from the martha stewart collection and I've use a clean make up kabuki brush to apply this dry shampoo! Saves money and is functional...

Whipped DIY Body Butter

Coconut Whipped DIY Body Butter
How to make a coconut Whipped DIY Body Butter at home. This is a luscious, natural, quick and easy DIY Body Butter that I really love to use in my skin care regiment and on my young children. It is creamy, fluffy, and decadent:) You actually only need 3 ingredients for this tutorial, remember the less ingredients in a product usually translates to 'better' for you. The three ingredients are organic, natural, and I feel safe using them everyday and on our children as well.

Natural Whipped DIY Body Butter

Supplies:
Bowl
Storage Jar
Spatula Spoon (is that a thing?)

8 drops Extract oil

Step 1:
Measure out 1/2 Cup of Organic Coconut Oil and place in mixing bowl. Whisk it with mixer for about 30 seconds.

Step 2:
Next add in 1 Cup of Organic Shea Butter and whisk with mixer for  15 seconds on low, then on high for 2 minutes.

Step 3:
Then mix in your choice of 8-10 drops Extract Oil, I used Lavender Oil in this batch since it doubles as a Baby friendly body butter.

Step 4:
Finally scoop into an air tight storage container and enjoy!

Doesn't it look so luxurious and soft!

 Enjoy!
This is a great alternative for an after sun body butter, and sleepy time lotion for your little ones. I used Lavender Oil to scent it as it is a great smelling oil that promotes relaxation and sound sleep.

No Ouch! DIY Hair Detangler Spray

No Ouch! DIY Hair Detangler Spray

How to make your own No Ouch! No Tears DIY Hair Detangler Spray recipe right at home.
Make this fast, quick, and easy DIY formula with only 3 ingredients. You may even have them already at home, so no need to go to the store. The ingredients used to create this recipe can either be an everyday product ingredient- all the way to a specialty organic, all natural ingredient. Either will work fine with this tutorial, you can even add essential oils to give it an extra pop of nutrition.

I was looking for a natural alternative for a Hair Detangler Spray for my eldest daughter's long long, long hair. For those of you who have seen her {on Instagram or YouTube} then know that it's fairly long for a girl of her age. Although my daughter doesn't cry when we brush her hair, I still like the hair to cooperative instead of it turning into a chore multiple times a day.

Gel DIY Air Fresheners using Kool-Aid

How to make your own Gel DIY Air Fresheners! But instead of using traditional food coloring I am using Kool-Aid mix in this tutorial for a 2 in 1 advantage that adds both color and scent to your Gel Air Fresheners. To intensify the scent and keep a long lasting smell, add essential oils that compliment each Kool-aid pack. Just about every household has some Kool-Aid in the pantry, especially in the warm spring and summer months. It's affordable and so versatile, see my Cotton Candy DIY Sugar Scrub that uses a similar process. This is a DIY project you can make together with your children to get them in the kitchen and learn a little lesson in chemistry and science...how gelatin is prepped as a liquid and then turns into a solid when cool. These Gel DIY Air Fresheners can be made for any occasion and makes a great, unique, homemade gift. I made a few from one box of gelatin and my husband keeps his Chocolate Covered Cherry gel air freshener on his desk!

Supplies:

Whisk
Funnel
Pot
1 Tablespoon Salt
Water
  -1 Cup boiling
  -1 Cup room temperature
Candy (optional)
Washi Tape

Step 1:

Gather the glass jars you will use. Either re-purpose glass jars or you can make them in Mason Jars.
Place candy and Kool-Aid mix of your choice at the bottom of designated jars.

Step 2:

Bring 1 Cup of Water to a boil in pot. Change to low heat, keep on stove and then dissolve all 4 packets of gelatin in hot water with a whisk. Dissolve completely prior to moving on.

Step 3:

Next add 1 Tablespoon of Salt. Dissolve completely.

Step 4:

Remove from heat and pour in the next 1 Cup of Water, room temperature.

Step 5:

Then place a funnel into jar and pour in gelatin. Stir the liquid and Kool-Aid mix to combine and dissolve. (I made 3 Gel Air Fresheners)

Step 6:

Add 8 to 10 drops of single Essential oil of your choice to each jar. Pair complimentary essential oil scents that correspond to the Kool-Aid mix you choose.

Example:
-Lemon Oil / Pink Lemonade
-Orange Oil/ Orange
-Cinnamon Bark/ Apple
-Lemon Oil/ Blue Berry
-Lemon Oil/ Grape

Let each jar have time to cool and solidify for about 24hrs.
I didn't have any issue working with the gelatine, it actually cooled off a lot after adding the 2nd cup of water. My kids were able to safely stir the Kool-aid at the bottom of each jar!
Decorate with Washi Tape and you are done!
They all turned out great and smell really flavorful and delicious, the effect we were going for. I like scents that remind me of sweet treats.

Cotton Candy DIY Sugar Scrub

Cotton Candy DIY Sugar Scrub

Make this deliciously delectable Cotton Candy DIY Sugar Scrub with this simple and fun tutorial. While growing up I was always fond of cotton candy, the smell, the taste and even at my wedding candy buffet {before candy buffets were a thing} I had a cotton candy machine and bags for guests to take. Now we can DIY different homemade cosmetics and spa goodies to have that same wonderful scent using items around the house! This is a great last minute gift idea too for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and any other holiday appropriate for cotton candy love:)

Cotton Candy jelly beans mixed in and dissolves:)

Supplies:

1 Cup Sugar
1/2 cup Carrier Oil
-Coconut, or Almond Oil, Olive, Apricot, Grapeseed, Safflower, Avocado etc.
Storage Container
Cotton Candy Jelly Beans
   -I used Jelly Belly
  -Strawberry or
  -Cherry
    -Strawberry or
    -Cherry
Large Bowl

Mix 1 Cup, 4 drops Essential Oils scent/extract, 1/3-1/2 Oil. The larger container, amount you need increases and double up recipe to fit your project size and container(s) you're using.

Step 1:

Mix 1 Cup Sugar and 1/2 cup Oil, play with ratios until you get the consistency you want. I prefer not to have excess oil.

Step 2:

Add the packet of Jello or Koolaid or both and combine. This adds color and scent.

I have pink lemonade Kool-aid in the picture, put didn't use that. I simply am showing that for a color option. I only used the strawberry jello and cherry Kool-aid (but I would've rather have used strawberry kool-aid, couldn't find)

Use stuff on hand in your pantry!

Step 3:

Cut up your jelly beans and, fold them into the sugar mixture. I used scissors, you can also use other cutting utensils.

Step 4:

Add 4 drops per cup of sugar of pure Vanilla Essential Oil/ Vanilla Extract.

Step 5:

Store in an air tight container. Decorate and add a pretty label.

yay for Cotton Candy!!
