Spinning Style- Organized Fitness + Giveaway

For Spin class you need to have the essentials in your gym bag and the right attire.
These picks are great for any type of workout and I threw in the sunglasses because I go to and from workouts with no make up on so I use sunglasses to protect my skin from the sun {wrinkles} and protect the public from seeing me with no makeup...just kidding. They see me inside the gym anyway with a fresh no makeup face so it's really for the sun protection.

The makeup I wear has SPF in it but for morning workouts I do not wear makeup.
Just moisturizer and chapstick/ lip gloss.

Grape, Lime: Gym Style

Gym Style by SWEET HAUTE
Here are a few options to keep in mind when heading to the gym....in style no doubt. These items are what I feel are some great ideas to get you started in the right direction. My favorites include music, with over-ear headphones to keep you motivated and energy levels high during cardio or heavy lifting. Then investing in a great fitness tracker like FitBit is an awesome way to realize the intensity of the workout you've done, movement of the day, and calories burned. I love solid color pumas as well as their neon color combinations. I put the knee highs in there for leg day, deadlifts and some types of squats you need to protect your shins:)

Whole 30 Series- a Busy Woman's Guide

Whole 30 time! I'm am writing a series on my experience with the Whole30 Program challenge. I decided to do the challenge when I was injured after a 'fall down the stairs' which happens more often than not....concerning. Nevertheless, I couldn't work out at all for about 1 month....so 30 day challenge, yes fits right into my lifestyle at that point.
Growing up, my family was ALWAYS active, whether we liked it or not. Yet as I left the nest and eventually had a family of my own, it was evident that it was definitely a way of life for me. So it was no surprise that I married a man who loves to workout just as much as I do and we motivate each other even when we are both feeling too exhausted and can't keep our eyes open. Anyone that knows me, knows that I am 'into' fitness and I am fond of weight lifting as well as cross fit. Well at least I'm fond of the way my body looks when I use those techniques, what I am not fond of is how sore you can get from high intensity workouts and weight lifting.

Whole30 Week 1
Whole30Week 2
Whole30 Week 3
Whole30 Week 4

The meals I will be using for this are going to be convenient and inexpensive although the information about Whole 30 reviews why we should go ahead and spend the money on the organic, grass fed, free range, wild caught fish and meat. I started on a day out of nowhere other than I had been thinking of doing it. I looked around the pantry and fridge to see what I could 'start' with...and then the next day I went out and got a few more item until I reached the weekend and tried to buy the groceries that I knew I needed for the week. It was easy, even though the challenge says to prep everything ahead of time....I didn't. I already knew that I am disciplined enough to make it and I do not have to 'buy ahead', which can get expensive, and wait until I had time to go find coupons and buy organic and raw food. I've also included some recommended books if you want to use them for days you have more time to cook or are wanting something in particular!! These books are great!

So stay tuned...this is going to be a real woman's guide to the Whole 30 challenge on a normal budget, with a busy BUSY schedule, and using organic / raw foods as well as foods that are easily available at the regular grocery instead of a specialty store like Whole Foods Market.

Color Run coming to your town! {SWEET}

If you get the chance to run a Color Run, you should totally do it! No matter your age or fitness level, you should try and find one in your area! Check them out, do a search for Color Vibe or Color Run and see when might be in your town. Usually you can find a coupon or something of that sort, joining a team and they have a PROMO CODE. Groupon sometimes has a deal for zombie runs and color runs. But if you sign up early enough the rates are usually lower than trying to sign up the 'day of' the race.....and mostly likely the are SOLD OUT because everyone is excited to do one of these.

Dance and Party after the run!

Run, Dance, Walk, to the music!
They have extra color packets you can buy and also if you recommend the run to a few friends then they give you free sun glasses as part of the PROMO. The color is non-toxic and some runs let kids kids 7 and under run and participate for FREE, as long as you sign a waiver for them.

You can dress up and wear a costume, they sell socks, tank tops, hoodies, and sweatshirts. But usually people wear crazy socks and a 'white' outfit so that the colors really show up good on the clothes. People go all out and even wear shoes that have those splash or neon color designs. I always wondered why they sold those because I never saw anyone wearing a pair like that, but this would be the opportunity to do it. Under Armour and form fitting white colored Nike or Asics clothing would be great.

You will have a blast getting the color EVERYWHERE!

Luckily, the color packets are made from cornstach and is biodegradable so it is safe for you to let loose and not worry about getting it in your mouth while your singing and dancing or breathing in air at the event. You should check out the photos they are awesome and beautiful!!
No matter your age, walk or run this 5K Run!

Right now it is a great time to sign up for one because it is not as hot as the summer months. I'm doing one in a few weeks so I will post the pictures. You can take your own photos but the also will have a professional photography team capturing the event. No worries about taking pictures....

So YOLO it up, "You Only LIVE Once"....live the sweet life and do something fun and fantastic like this type of color run! You will have the time of your life!!!

Would you do a color run? Have already done one, if so...how did it go? Any suggestions? I would love to hear from you!!! Oh and there is also another one called Graffiti 5K Run and they definitely have a Groupon deal, at least an offer for one in the greater Los Angeles area. Until next time!!!

Tips for Running your First 5K Run

Organize Your Fitness Routine:
Here are some awesome (and easy) tips to get you ready for your first 5K Run or to start you off if you are a beginning runner. You should start training for your run as soon as possible, but if your time is limited and the race date is approaching then you can follow these instruction as best as you can. Ideally you would want to have at least 6-8 weeks prep time, especially if you are not in the best shape to begin with. The great thing is, is that you do not have to be in 'fantastic' shape, you just have to 'want' to try and....'just do it!'

{Sweet} Tips for Beginners:

1. Train Slowly, but consistently. {Sample: BELOW}
2. Get a pair of Running Shoes 1/2 a half -to- 1 One size (LARGER) than normal size you wear.
3. Use "Band Aid" Friction Block' stick to help avoid blisters.
-Also good for wear high heels or other shoes that you need to break in.
4. Wear socks that will wick away moisture.
5. Music, listen to music that will motivate you.
-Use an iPod in a case that you can wear on your body. I prefer an arm band.
6. Wear non-chafing running clothes.
-Right now I wear Under Armor and Nike.
7. Sunscreen
-Protect your skin either with sunscreen and or a hat.
8. Hydration.
-Stay hydrated, I drink more than 8 cups a day (about four, 16.9 fl oz bottles) yet I combine them into one container so that it's easier for me to keep track.

Some of my favorite runs I've been on have been the ones with 'themes', they give you something out of the box to look forward to. It's fun to get a bunch of people together and do them, or just get a good running partner so you can keep each other motivated. Here are some or the theme runs that I have participated in or may plan on doing in the near future!
- Mud Run
-Color Vibe Run
-Beach Run
-Halloween (costume) Run
-Turkey Run
-Race for the Cure
-Bright Lights Run
-Reverse Triathalon
-Western Wear Run
-Ugly Sweater Run
-Zombie Run (I do NOT plan on doing this type of run)
