Christmas 2020 VLOG Happy New Year 2021

Happy New Year's 2021 from SWEETHAUTE! We had a Christmas and chill type of Christmas Break and New Year's Eve. Very different than our typical holiday season but I did find a lot of positives from it actually. We were definitely more prepared and less rushed, more relaxed and less stressed trying to meet all the expectations and deadlines that sometime's the Holiday's bring.

Berry Blue Cotton Candy Sugar Scrub

How to make Berry Blue Cotton Candy Scrub!
You can create so many scrumptiously scented Sugar Scrub DIY style right in your home kitchen. DIY Beauty and Skin Care Treatments are easy to make and are more affordable that purchasing, especially when you just want to 'try out' a new scent. I personally love the scent of Cotton Candy so I thought I'd try out a new sugar scrub cleanser recipe and then share the tutorial!
I realize this recipe isn't green or all natural, yet it is still a fun DIY beauty recipe to try out during Spring Break....throw it in the travel bag:)

Summer is calling....cotton candy here!

Supplies:

1 Cup Sugar

Vanilla Essential Oil

or Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup Carrier Oil
    -Coconut, Almond Oil, Olive, Apricot, Grapeseed, Safflower, Avocado etc.

Storage Container

   -Glass, I used a Mason Jar

1 Packet Cotton Candy Frosting Mix-in

Large Bowl

Mix 1 Cup, 4 drops Essential Oils scent/extract, 1/3-1/2 Oil. The larger container, amount you need increases and double up recipe to fit your project size and container(s) you're using.

Step 1:

Mix 1 Cup Sugar and 1/2 cup Oil, play with ratios until you get the consistency you want. I prefer not to have excess oil.

Step 2:

Add the packet of Cotton Candy frosting mix-in and combine. This adds color and scent.

Step 3:

Store inside of a GLASS container, do not use plastic. Mason jars are excellent for this purpose. Decorate with Washi Tape and a gift tag if giving to someone:)

Coconut Cucumber Facial Cleanser

How to make Coconut Cucumber DIY Facial Cleanser in your own kitchen.
You may already have the ingredients you need to put together this organic alternative to traditional beauty treatments. I love organic coconut oil and I have been using it for a few years now...so I feel I am now a fan for life. There are many ways you can incorporate coconut oil into your daily life and routine. Today I am sharing a DIY Coconut Cucumber Facial Cleanser that you can use to get you fresh and ready for the day...providing your skin with nutrients, antioxidants, and a dewy glow:)

 Coconut Cucumber DIY Facial Cleanser

Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon Fractionated Coconut Oil

1 Tablespoon Castor Oil 

Cucumber

4 Tablespoons Sugar

Glass Bowl

Glass/ Stainless Steel Storage

  -if storing NO PLASTIC containers due to leaching.

Optional: Antioxidants + Essential Oils

6 drops Lemon Essential Oil (anti-aging)

or

6 drops Rosemary Essential Oil (anti-aging/ sagging)

Step 1:

Slice by hand or mince cucumber up using food processor, into really thin slices. Set aside.

Step 2:

Pour in your measured out fractionated coconut oil and organic castor oil.

Step 3:

Stir in sugar and combine.

Step 4:

Next add in your 6 drops Lemon or Rosemary Essential Oil.
Tip: if you make a double batch and store use 12 drops of one single oil.

Tip: Store in stainless steel or glass container, NO PLASTIC it leaches and contaminates product.

- Splash your face with some water, gently massage your DIY Coconut Cucumber Facial Cleanser in a circular motion all over face to exfoliate skin, rejuvenate and promote circulation. Avoid eye area.

Add water to face slowly and continue massaging cleanser into face.

- Rinse with warm water. Dry with a soft wash cloth.

- Apply moisturizer.

Tip: Did you know extra virgin organic Coconut Oil can also be used as a moisturizer by itself?!
