Hi Everyone!!! Here are some simple and cute DIY Christmas place cards and / or buffet card holders that I made out of mini candy canes one lazy afternoon with the kids. I actually got to use them early for a cookie exchange party that I went to. Fun! They were made with supplies that are inexpensive and easy to find. I found my supplies at my local dollar store and grocery market.

Supplies:Mini Candy Canes
Frosting
Parchment Paper
Ribbon
Card Stock
Glue
Scalloped Scissors
Lay out a piece of parchment paper and adhere 2 mini candy canes together, forming a 'v' type shape and lay them down to dry. You can place a piece of sturdy paper so that they dry in the shape you need and it doesn't move while drying. Set aside until the frosting is dry and completely solid.
Step 2:
Take the dry 'double' candy canes shapes and adhere a 3rd candy cane on the back of each with frosting. When doing this make sure to glue it in a way so that the holder will stand at a slight angle, shown in image below. Set aside to dry.
Step 3:
Make place cards, or buffet cards (in my case) using beautiful paper and scalloped scissors! And viola you are done!
Then you have some wonderfully designed place card holders that can also be used on your serving table as labels. Using the frosting as the 'glue' also keeps this project kid friendly, and the candy canes can be eaten after its use. It creates a custom look, and demonstrates attention to detail. It will make your guest feel special and joyful to see candy canes used in a functional way!!!
