Bacon Avocado Cheese Pita Pockets- Recipe
This is wonderful recipe that is delicious and also healthy. A Bacon Avocado Cheese Pita Pockets- Recipe...this is a family favorite in my house. I've been making these for years but even more so once I married my "never-ending eating" husband. This a fun and flavorful take on Spa Food or food you would find at a Health Food Bar. They are really easy to make and yummy...I actually crave them.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Ready In: 15 minutes
Servings 6
Ingredients:
1 large avocado4-6 tablespoons bacon bits
6 whole wheat pita pockets
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1-2 drop lemon juice
1 cup cheese shredded
1 cup carrots shredded
1 cup alfalfa sprouts
Directions:
Step 1.
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Mash the avocado and add mayonnaise & garlic salt to it. Blend well. Add lemon juice into mix so that avocado doesn't turn brown.
Step 2.
Put a layer of avocado mix on bottom of each pita pocket. Split even amount of avocado mix among number of pita pockets. Add desired amount of your favorite shredded cheese to each pita. Monterey jack is a good choice. Sprinkle desired amount of bacon bits on top of cheese layer.
Step 3.
Arrange on cookie sheet and place in 350 degree oven for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
