Homemade Bacon: Whole 30 Recipe
This is a really simple way to stay healthy, gluten free, and Whole30 compliant as well when it comes to bacon. This Homemade Bacon Whole30 Recipe is short and sweet and I decided to make it myself because all the other organic bacons had sugar or some other additive.
Supplies:
Pork Bellies
Sea Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Here is what it should look like, plain pork belly strips. The butcher asked me if I wanted him to slice for me, but make sure to ASK THEM if they don't ask you. He knew I was looking for organic bacon.
I found my pork bellies at Whole Foods Market and it was locally produced, raised and harvested in the USA.
Step 1:
Sprinkle liberally with your favorite spices and cover both sides of each slice, set aside.
Step 2:
Warm up some Ghee (my recipe here) on a pan of medium to high heat.
Step 3:
Fry and serve when cool enough to handle. Store and use in other recipes that you want to include that bacon flavor in:)
See simple. I usually only at 1 piece with my meal because I didn't want too much natural fat even though the Whole 30 plan says it is ok. Below is an example breakfast meal that I would typically make.
I also would use the bacon in my Stuffed Bell Peppers Recipe and my Bell Pepper Egg Boats Recipe, it added some rich flavor and I really enjoyed this recipe. So that it my homemade bacon recipe that I wanted to share with you.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
