Cherry Blossom DIY 3D Accent Wall

Happy Spring:)
I'm here today with an easy breezy DIY decor project, yet it makes a huge visual impact for not a lot of money. It is a 3D Cherry Blossom Accent Wall feature...just in time for Spring.
Fast. Easy. Inexpensive. Perfect for a dorm room, craft artist space, children's room, teen space!!

Cherry Blossoms are amazing and gorgeous and if you happen to live near some areas that bloom, you must go every year to celebrate their arrival during Spring. If you don't live near Cherry Blossom country, then you can use this DIY project to bring the outside in and let your space take full bloom:)

Of course you may already have all the supplies you need in your crafty DIY arsenal since all you essentially need is card stock or thick paper, scissors, thumb tacks, and some spare time. The time part is what might be hard to come by. If your really lucky you might have a craft cutting machine similar to a Silhouette Portrait / Cameo or Cricut to do the cutting for you.

Look at that sunshine, it gets me every time:)

My Spring Laundry Room reveal is coming soon and that is where my Cherry Blossom wall calls home. Be sure to visit me again for the final REVEAL.

Supplies:

   -Lime Green
   -Brown
Scissors
   -Cutting Machine
   -or silver

Step 1:

Trace out your flowers (3 different sizes), leaves, and branches. I used the bottom template as a guide then I free-handed created three sizes of flower 'guides' as well as the leaves and branches- free hand.

Step 2:

Cut cardstock paper, sort, and bend the petals up for the 3D effect.

Step 3:

Pin each branch, flower stack, and leaves with thumbtacks.

This DIY project is so easy to do and you can get your kids involved too if they are old enough to use a steady hand with scissors.

I try to come up with the most inexpensive way to DIY something yet also include tips so others can use the same technique for any theme.

  1. This is very unique! I'm in the process of redecorating my room and was browsing through my favorite blogs which includes yours. I am amazed by this! I love the fact that the card sticks can be shaped into a paper flower. Cherry blossoms are beautiful! Definitely using this idea <3
